About Us

The Bartone School of Radiography has continued it successful teaching programs through the dedicated efforts of the members of the Department of Radiology and others. Noel F. Bartone, MD, the director of radiology from 1955 to 1976, was the founder of the school. After his death, the school was dedicated in his memory. The school is part of the ever broadening educational efforts of New York Methodist Hospital to develop the professional and technical skills of men, women and members of the health care team. The recognized excellence and the perpetuation of high standards year after year are enduring tributes to the memory of Dr. Noel F. Bartone.

Mission Statement

New York Methodist Hospital’s Bartone School of Radiography has made a firm commitment to the education of students in the field of Radiography.

Our mission is the training of Radiographers who are skilled individuals, qualified by technical education, to provide services using various imaging modalities.

Goals

The Bartone School of Radiography's Mammography Cross Training Program educates licensed radiologic technologists in mammography. The course is designed to help radiologic technologists to become MQSA certified, to help prepare them for the ARRT certification examination in Mammography as well as to provide a means for satisfaction of the required clinical competencies needed for exam qualification.
